Drinks

N/A

We've gotta be honest, we were too hungover to go full bottomless, so we can't in good faith throw up a score here. We attempted to rally with a few hard seltzers, but despite no one at our table making it past a second round (we refer you back to the hangover), they somehow ran out of Topo Chicos by 2pm on a Saturday. Luckily for Bidwell, à la carte drink logistics aren't part of our scoring system.

Food

3.74

Brunch classics are naturally on offer — we recommend the omelette — but the menu fortunately expands to more avant-garde fare, too (well, by brunch standards — we mostly mean they have tacos).

Service

3.56

Our server kindly consoled us through the whole Topo Chico tragedy, and helpfully guided us through a barrage of menu questions. One of us did have to wait about half an hour for their granola order, but we're willing to chalk that up to user error.

Ambiance

3.92

You'll find Bidwell tucked into a corner of Union Market, which sounds simple until you watch half your group walk confidently into the wrong entrance. Once you actually make it inside, the chaos of food stalls fades away, replaced by a pleasing collection of oddly shaped tables with plenty of natural light.

Nero might be a lovely wine bar, with self-dispensing wine machines that certainly piqued our interest, but we wonder if they forgot they're also a restaurant.

The bellinis and mimosas have a respectably small tinge, and we appreciate the straight champagne option, but it's really the espresso martinis — six different options, freshly made at a cart wheeled over to your table — that salvage the price.
